Close to home and you can order take out. The rolls are fine, nothing to write home about. I've also had the beef teriyaki and it is usually yummy. The crab rangoon and accompanying sauce is also delicious. Overall, a decent sushi place if you're hungry.

Pretty good sushi... I wish I could say I knew a thing or two about it, but I don't... It's hard for me to tell what is good and what is crap. When I got this stuff home, it smelled kind of fishy, and after eating half of it, I did have a quick spell of stomach upset, but couldn't pin it on the sushi. I put the rest away, still on the fence about whether or not it would get eaten the next day. At lunch time the next day, during a super-crazed cleaning day, I took one look at the ready to eat leftover container and decided to give it a go. After the first roll I thought....can sushi too be better the next day? Why yes it can! I quickly gobbled up the rest of my rolls and returned to cleaning. This time no stomach upset. Glad glad! I would go back here for sure when in the area :-D

Hits the spot but definitely not the best sushi I have had. Spicy crab and scallop roll is pretty tasty! The yellowtail nigiri is sometimes veiney but it still tastes fresh. Service was average, nothing to complain or applaud about. Update: went in today and my miso soup was a lot smaller than usual for my to go order. Also, was bummed to see my tuna roll was white tuna.. :(

I had the unagidon take out. The taste was alright but the eel was a little too chewy for my liking. It made it a little difficult to eat with chopsticks too.

I am sorry, but here is another 1 star rating... I came in for lunch by myself and got told I could seat where ever I want. It was hard to find a clean seat or a clean area. A short while later I ordered a water. The water came and besides the chlorine taste some pieces of dust grains or other sediments were swimming in the glass. It was almost blurry. After complaining about the water I got a new one, but with all the same swimming inside. My lunch order was the Boat Special with Chicken Teryaki, Shrimp Tempura, California Roll and Sashimi. The food came and the Chicken Teryaki and Shrimp Tempura were cold - not even warm. For sure they made it earlier and not fresh when I came in. By the way - the Tempura dough wasn t the one I was expecting and was totally tasteless. The Califirnia Roll was made of cheap rice and not high grade Sushi rice. The filling was some kind of crunched/ mashed and tasteless. The Sashimi was not Sushi grade fish - just cheap pieces of salmon and tuna. They were cut as cubes - that s not Sashimi!!! Last but not least the Wasabi had no horseradish taste and the pickled ginger was already dry at its ends. To say it it one word, it was terrible. Please try the half mile away Sushi location: "Makimoto" - that s Sushi as it s best!!!

This is for the OPDYKE and Walton location in Auburn Hills. The sushi is OK but I would be leary of the fish being fresh, so I don't order anything raw. But besides that this place is a cluster fk of an operation and needs to hire people! And it's obvious they just don't want to spend the money because they have been working on a skeleton crew since they opened and there is never a hiring sign up! I do still continue to go here because of the convenience (right next to my office) so today I ordered a carry out via phone, planning to run over and quickly pick it up on my busy Friday work day. Well I get there and there's a line of about 10 people waiting cash out or to pick up carry outs at the register. There's ONE woman working the register, putting together carry outs and working the ENTIRE floor. There's ONE sushi chef. There's one other older woman who appears not to do much (maybe prep or clean?). So I finally get to the register and they figure out they've given my order to "that other guy" that left. Sorry dude, hope you really like Avocado rolls. So I had to wait as they remade it. I actually got avocado rolls yesterday and they were all rice on the outside, today they were rice on the inside. Consistency please! They don't use gloves when making your food which bothers me as well. Sushi guy is nice & friendly though. Just GET FREAKING EMPLOYEES please wtf. There's a college nearby I'm sure one of those kids would work a 2-3 hour shift at lunch for some extra $$. People dining in were visably annoyed from waiting to place their order. The cashier/waitress woman was totally losing control (understandable with that much responsibility) she would ring up an order than go run to a table, come back to the register, put part of a carryout together, run to the register, run to the salesfloor, etc. You have a lot of CORPORATE people out here that go out with collegues and take clients to lunch, they want to have a professional dining experience. Sushi is OK just be warned on a busy lunch hour service is sloooow.

Not my favorite of the three locations I've visited. Reasonable pricing, this is a bit larger than the other stores. Have had a couple of items that had a bit of a soapy taste to them, things not fully rinsed before being used to make an item. Nigiri and sashimi has no issues.

Ordered takeout Pad Pak for lunch....horrible!! The vegetables were cooked until mushy when I opened container. No flavor. Rice was overcooked, as well, and very sticky. Wasted my money...

The food here is good, but nothing mind-blowing. When I'm in a hurry for lunch (which I usually am), I come here because it's down the road from my job. I love the Age Dashi Tofu, but let's face it, anything that is deep fried is good. I have had the Nabeyaki Soba, Tempura Soba, Bento Box, and Boat Special for lunch. The Bento Box has a Cali roll, shrimp tempura, gyoza, sashimi, and fried fritters. The Boat Special has chicken teriyaki, sashimi, Cali roll, shrimp and veggie tempura, potato salad, and an orange slice (for decoration or for dessert, I have no clue but eat it anyway =P) Both of those combos have enough food to share for two people. Also both soba noodle soups have been pretty good with a nice dashi broth that is not too salty. The service is friendly but sometimes very slow; when they are short staffed in the kitchen, they utilize the waitress as an extra cook. I should warn Yelpers though that I tried the Ramen the other day and it wasn't very good. It tasted like bland pork broth with noodles and corn in it. I tried to add spice and soy sauce, but there was no saving it.

The service was bad, every item I ordered had an issue. The sushi I had send back at first because my order was incorrect, then the next batch I got my fish was fatty. My shu mai wasn't cooked fully. The soup was bland. It was just a horrible experience.

This place just doesn't get it done. The Thai I ordered was awful. They didn't even use authentic asian noodles, tasted like it was from the supermarket.

The staff were very friendly and the food was great. It was more than I could eat and less than $15.

This place has some amazing sushi and tempura, and it recently started serving really good Thai food as well. It's made and spiced a bit differently than I've had at other Thai places, but it's absolutely delicious. If you or a friend you're with has never had sushi before, they have a really awesome menu option called a Lunch Boat that's decently priced and offers a variety of small portions of different things - a california roll, a couple pieces of sashimi, some tempura, and some teriyaki chicken. One thing I can absolutely assure you of is that the food is insanely fresh - I work in the same plaza (though I'm not associated with the restaurant in any way), so we see the truck coming in every morning with fresh fish, sometimes twice a day.

I was the first one in the door today for lunch. I was greated right away. My server was very friendly and attentive to me. I ordered a California roll, and a soft-shelled crab roll. When my server brought me my rolls they were.......just ok. Nothing spectacular. They tasted just ok. The prices were very fair. Yes, I would go back, but I would rather try someplace new.

I moved close to Tokyo Sushi about a year ago and became my go to sushi place since I lived so close. The staff is always very friendly and the restaurant appears to be pretty clean. I would say although I do enjoy the sushi here I come here a lot primarily because its near by. You can never go wrong with the classics like the salmon and avocado rolls or the Ell and avocado rolls. But the best is one of there specialty shrimp tempura rolls, can you say delicious! Although Tokyo sushi is not one of my favorite sushi spots I will continue to go there for the connivence and the overall good rolls. But don't let the casual atmosphere fool you this place is a lil on the pricey side!

This is the first restaurant I went to when I moved here a year ago. And I have to say that, as a former Tokyo-ite, it made me feel right at home and I go there frequently. I am continually pleased with the casual non-pretentious atmosphere, the quality vegetarian rolls, and the low price. My ONE gripe is the lack of variety for vegetarians on the rest of the menu, though they will make custom rolls if asked. Wait staff is very friendly & the sushi bar chef greets everyone as they come in. Tokyo Sushi do not serve alcohol. Parking is usually not a problem, though the plaza is hard to get into from some directions [@$#% Michigan lefts!] Even though the owners are not Japanese so one may question the 'authenticity', one of the things that impressed me about it is that I've seen Japanese auto company execs having lunch there. To me, that is a very good sign. If you are vegetarian, you should be aware that most Japanese or Asian places will deep fry vegetables & tofu [i.e. tempura] in the same oil as the fish & meat. So be sure to ask!

I went here the other day for the first time, and have no intention to ever go back, much better places around.. We ordered edamame and ebi shumai steamed, both appetizers not bad. Then ordered 4 rolls: San Diego, USA, crunchy crab? and rainbow roll. Wasn't super fast service but wasn't absolutely terrible (at first) either... When the sushi came I instantly was not impressed, did not look fresh, borderline scary... The crunchy crab did not really live up to its description - basically it was a california roll with a few tempura flakes on the outside. The USA roll didn't taste very good, that was salmon tempura topped with salmon - as previously stated, didn't even look appetizing. We ate a bit of it and sat waiting for the bill - while the waitress sat and enjoyed her lunch not even glancing our way. I eventually had to get up to go to work and my mom waited a few more minutes after my departure for the bill and had to go up to the waitress -- I guess I should also mention at this time only one other customer was in here -- when my mom informed the waitress that we had been waiting and needed to leave she said "well why didn't you say something?"...

Yummy Japanese food. I used to work and live right down the road and frequented it. Now, alas I live in another state and miss it so... The food is great and service good. The ginger dressing on the salad alone is worth a trip. I recommend any of the Donburi or Katsu. If you are starving and enjoy sushi go for the boat! Here is the breakdown: * Wait staff: Friendly, although occasionally difficult to understand. * Drink Menu: Pop, tea- no booze * Menu: Japanese Food * Parking: The lot can fill up at lunch. * Dress: Casual

This place was really, really good. I stopped here for dinner on my way home from Birch Run as we were craving sushi and I saw it had decent reviews on Yelp. When we arrived, we were the only people in the place, so we got amazing service! :). After we arrived, several other tables of people showed up. I had the house soup, and my husband had miso and a bowl of lemongrass soup. He then had a california tempura roll and I had a special called the firecracker roll. One of the best rolls I have EVER had. Soup was incredible as well, all three kinds. Only bummer was they were out of crab rangoon. Restroon was super clean and service was perfect. Highly recommend, and I wish this place was near my house/office!

There is a location south of Walton on Opdyke but I couldn't find them to write a review - I prefer that location to this one. They would have gotten four stars. The sushi here is always great. I'm a big fan of their udon too. My only complaint and the major reason why I prefer the other location is the lack of specials. If they have any, you aren't made aware if them.

I love lunch specials here! The only complaint I have is that they seem to always have the air on, even in the winter. If you dine-in make sure to bring a warm coat.

This place is also part of Tokyo Sushi& Grill. However, this place became the best Tokyo Sushi &Grill Location among all other locations. The reason this place is the best of all because Chef Chris is the main Chef here. I've been eating his sushi since High school. He knows what he is doing compare to other Tokyo Sushi & Grill Location in Birmingham, Royal Oak, and Troy. Its a shame that other chefs are not as good as he is. This place is bigger than the other Locations and it gets really busy during lunch time. There are many selections of entrees such as Donburi, Pork or Chicken Katsu and they are really good. The staffs are friendly! The price is reasonable.
